Dawn Zapletal is a native of Illinois. She is years old, married, have one son and two daughters. They have lived in California since 1945. She started writing poetry, non-fiction and fiction in 1989. Her works have been published in Bellowing Ark, Pegasus Dreaming, Infinity, The Pinehurst Journal, AIM, The Villager, and Imagine! Riverrun, Red Owl, Innisfree, Mature Living and many other publications.

She is a charter member of Another Mother for Peace and Friends of the Earth and worked for various medical and mental health facilities as a volunteer. Due to an accident and Meniere's disease she is pretty much home bound now. Poetry is one of her consolatio
