Cross

And Mary didn't stay a virgin
And so won't this paper
Now
Go get me a cross
And a crusade
For the
Critics

MISUNDERSTANDING

It's not your fault
If you miss the understanding
That lurks between
The simple curves of etc
We are taken out of context

DEBT

All my life I've owed something to somebody
Flickers of hope to black empty eyes
Strokes of love to orphaned
street walker thoughts
and a smile to every janitor boy

All my life
I've owed owing something to somebody
Learned to learn to keep the accounts of
Nothing and nobody precise and up to date

All my life….
Tell me
How many apples would that be?
Just how many to turn back the time
And be forgiven the pleasure and honor
Of this witty game
They name life?

SILENCE

Close your eyes to see me
Standing seated beside the fire
And let go of all that may come
When one yields to desire

Dream my wake and my silence sing
The soundless bells of nothing
Toll the lonely chaos of a ring
In a labyrinth of everything

And when the dark fades into black
Remember once the wind did blow
To woo woo hoo a laity light
On myths we forgot we know

That I am no one but "me"
The sum of all that around
Blind your sight to insight
The melody of no sound

The Truth is contagious
That is why I rarely look
In the mirror

GONE WITH THE GOD

They were kissing out life
Yes, they were
Breathe not in this beauty
No one dared, no wonder
Two fingers plucked a flower
Two eyes stared
One hand sinned
But the other was chained

Fall fall
And they thought they fought back
Oh always always always
Something lacks
Come come come
And touch
But don't feel
Come come come
And breathe
But don't inhale
Stand stand stand up
Free free free
In this jail
Throw throw throw up
But you are the one
To carry the pail
You are, you are, you are
More than what you were!

So they went up
And they came down
They were the king
And the clown
They were life
And they were death
The rise and the set
They were dreams
And they were eyes
They were truth
And they were lies
Devoted
And spies

Earth and skies

"Oh let them win!
Let them!" He said
And pulled the blanket on his head

So they all spat and spat and smiled

They lived their lay and lied their lie

Bow and bow
Let us kneel
"Can you heal?"
"Where’s your seal?"

An angel laughed its wings out
"That sense of humor is great!"

But under the blanket
There was an eye that said
"oh what a mess I've made!

Where's the One I thought…
ah….what a disgrace!"

And shush!
Let's keep it between ourselves
That's why
He conceals his face
