Sonnet to a Lying Government

Tell a story (I’ll wait).
People will ask if it is true.
What they should ask instead
Is if it’s real.
Swallow the Drano.
The twisted pipe of scar down your neck
Witnesses corrosive lies you’ve swallowed.
Whose throat swallows for you?
Where is the blue sitar
That will change
Things as they are?
Don’t tell stories. Go ahead, tell.
This is a test of the Emergency Broadcast System.
