GULF WAR AND CHILD (Annie Finch)
He is sleeping, his fingers curled,
his belly pooled open, his legs gathered, still

Exiled Verse (Usha Kishore )
I write many songs,
unheard by you, Mother;
But the first drops of milk
that blessed my throat

Even If (Ali Samavati )
Outside a hut atop a Sado crag,
he sits writing letters in sumi ink,
oblivious to the cold wind and snow.
